I think we focus on the wrong thing. We narrow our sights down to specifics, when we should really be looking at principles. I run into a lot of questions about “how” to do specific things when writing. I believe it is important to understand the craft of writing and storytelling well, but I think we need to view writing creatively from a different perspective. The question we should be asking is not what is the best way. We should be asking another question.
