World Building Disease: Pitfalls and Importance

World building disease is not something I find myself struggling with. This might be because I am good at avoiding the excesses of world building, or this might be because I am blind to my own foibles. Some writers have trouble writing for one specific reason. Instead of writing, they choose to build the world around their story. This “World Building Disease” often overtakes writers who are creating fantasy worlds. Though it can get in the way of writing, it also serves a useful purpose.
