A Cur for Death (Detective Arthur Caol Book 1)

Detective Arthur Caol does not believe the supernatural manifests itself on the earth. So, when he is told a stone he has found belongs to an ancient death god, Arthur only thinks of finding more artifacts to make a quick buck. When he is later confronted with a story about a vampire attack, he dismisses it. He is certain some logical explanation must exist. But as the night grows old, Arthur finds it harder and harder to deny that something beyond logic and science is taking place.

“Thrilling! Great read! I read the whole book in 1 day because I just couldn’t put it down, which is not like me! I’ve grown up loving Nancy Drew and Agatha Christie mysteries, so this one was a bit darker that my usual taste, but I’m definitely anxious to read the next 5 as they are released!”

“Quick and fun read! Love this book! Quick read. I also think it nicely walks the line of being a mystery but not too scary or too true crimey.”

The Ninth Hour (In Memoriam Book 1)

“He was a slave, yes. We both were slaves,
but where I saw only darkness ahead,
Mackenzie found hope for the world.
I wish he were correct.
He always found hope for the world.”
– James Anderson –

Many books have been written about the decline and fall of the United States and the turmoil thereafter, whether these are biographies on Robert Dalimore, case studies of the Executive Ten, books on the mysterious lives of those in Society, or the thousands of journal pieces that have been brought together to create a picture of what it was like to live in the post-United States world. Despite the extensive library that could be created from the literature of that time, one story, perhaps the most important story, still remains untold. This book begins that story.

“Poppie’s riveting novel is soundly constructed, action-packed, and features a fast-paced plot… Mackenzie serves as an endlessly entertaining character…”
Publishers Weekly, The BookLife Prize

“Dark alternate reality of the U.S. that I didn’t want to put down! From the first page Dan captured me with his view of a rather dark alternate – but not altogether impossible – reality of not just the U.S. but of world events. This dystopian world was seen through the eyes of a few “unimportant” characters, unimportant as far as world events were concerned but crucial for the development of the story, as they give the reader a view of what it was like to live as a member of the disenfranchised, the lower classes. I can’t wait for the next book!”

“You’ll get sucked in! This novel navigates the thoughts of three young men as they struggle through a war-torn world. The writer’s style reminds me of a milder Stephen King and the description of the character’s struggles and mindsets throughout the book does a great job of bringing the reader closer to James, David, and Mack. The reader will have trouble putting the book down!”

“Amazing first debut. Hard to believe this is the author’s first book! The book was over before I knew it ans left me wanting much much more. I can’t wait to read more.”

“A good story. I enjoyed the imagery of the novel and the underlining struggle of hope versus nihilism. I found the characters to be as unique as their dark, despotic American environment. It’s a book worth picking up. I look forward to the next book and wonder how the author will develop the world of Memoriam.”
